The X-29 was a NASA research aircraft that fascinated me from the first time I saw it. I decided to draw and build one in the 90 mm EDF size. The 64 mm version was originally intended to determine the correct center of gravity (CG) for this particular wing design. It flew so well that I decided to create a version for sale.
The entire aircraft is printed from ColorFabb LW-PLA and PETG, using a flow rate of 65%, a single-wall gyroid infill of 3%, except for the canards and the PETG elevons, which are printed with 5% infill.
The hinges are made by pushing a 1.75 mm filament rod through the designed hinge channels.
The X-29 is powered by a 64 mm 6S EDF, paired with an 80 A ESC, a 1750 mAh LiPo battery, and three 9 g servos for the elevons and canards.
The neutral position of the canards is indicated by a small hole located in front of each canard.
